European chiller and heat pump manufacturer: from no digital presence to 8 named specifications in 16 months
The problem
A mid-size European manufacturer of scroll and screw chillers, heat pumps and air handling units (15 to 500 kW cooling capacity) had a classic industrial marketing problem. Ninety two percent of revenue came from five long standing distributor relationships in Germany, France and the Benelux. The company held AHRI 550/590 certification for the chiller range but had no digital infrastructure to capitalize on it. A new business development director, tasked with entering the UK and Nordic markets, discovered the company was being value engineered out of projects 83% of the time. The mechanical contractor always found a cheaper alternative, and without any specification stage content, the MEP engineer had no basis to reject substitution.
The audit
An HVAC SEO audit revealed zero indexed pages for any specification stage search. The website consisted of a PDF catalogue (German only), a distributor map and a contact form.
